Vinyl Floor to Release New Song “Mr. Rubinstein”
Vinyl Floor is set to unveil their latest track, “Mr. Rubinstein,” serving as the opening song from their upcoming album “Balancing Act,” scheduled for release on October 31st, 2025. This new track offers a glimpse into the ever-evolving journey of the Danish duo.
“Mr. Rubinstein” is more than just a song; it’s a narrative that delves into the clash between an artist and a critic, highlighting the collision of egos where neither party is willing to yield. This tension is brilliantly captured in every musical note of the track.
The Pedersen brothers, Thomas Charlie and Daniel, ventured to Studio Möllan in Sweden to record the song with producer Emil Isaksson. Mixing and mastering were expertly handled by Søren Vestergaard at the Shelter. Adding depth to the track, renowned musician Bebe Risenfors, known for his work with Tom Waits, contributed layers of horns, while Christian Ellegaard’s string arrangements enhance the haunting quality of the song.
This track marks a departure from Vinyl Floor’s usual style, opting for a slower and more deliberate tempo. Dominated by piano, organ, and strings, the mood of the song is characterized by a darker undertone that takes its time unraveling. The single version of the track runs for 4 minutes and 13 seconds, slightly shorter than the album rendition set to feature on “Balancing Act,” which is slated for release on February 27th, 2026.
Since their formation in 2007, Vinyl Floor has crafted their sound by blending elements of 60s and 70s British rock with their unique touch. With over 200 shows under their belt, including tours in the UK, Germany, and Japan, the band has established a solid presence in the music scene. “Balancing Act” will mark their sixth full-length album, following their previous releases: “Funhouse Mirror” (2022), “Apogee” (2018), “Vaudeville” (2014), “Peninsula” (2012), and “Do You Still Dream” (2009).
Don’t miss the release of “Mr. Rubinstein” on October 31st, 2025, through Karmanian Records. It promises to be a track that encapsulates the musical essence of Vinyl Floor.
