Joe Walsh and Zac Brown announced as Mega Mentors for Knockouts on The Voice Season 28
Starting soon on NBC, season 28 of the popular musical competition show, The Voice, will welcome two mega mentors to guide the aspiring artists through the Knockouts phase. The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer and multi-Grammy Award-winning Joe Walsh, along with Grammy Award-winning artist Zac Brown, will be lending their expertise to help the contestants shine as they compete for a spot in the next round. Fans can catch all the action on Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT or stream it the next day on Peacock.
Zac Brown, known as the frontman of Zac Brown Band, is making his debut as a mentor on The Voice this season. Joining coaches Michael Bublé and Snoop Dogg, Brown will be offering his insights and advice to the contestants. Meanwhile, Joe Walsh, famous for his hits such as “Funk #49” and “Rocky Mountain Way”, will be teaming up with coaches Niall Horan and Reba McEntire to mentor the remaining artists as they prepare to face off in the Knockouts, which are set to begin on Monday, October 27.
As the competition heats up in the Knockouts, each coach will bring eight artists into the round. With no saves or steals available at this stage, the pressure is high as coaches must select only one winner from their team to move on to the Playoffs, the final round before the Live Shows.
This season’s Knockouts will feature an exciting new element called the “Mic Drop” button. Each coach will have the opportunity to use this button on an artist from their team whose performance truly blows them away. Viewers at home will even have a chance to vote for the “Mic Drop” winner among the final four. The artist chosen by the viewers will get the chance to perform at The Rose Parade Presented by Honda live on January 1, 2026.
Zac Brown Band, led by Zac Brown, has had a successful career spanning over a decade. With multiple chart-topping albums, including six consecutive top 10 albums on the Billboard 200 and five consecutive albums debuting at number one on the Country Albums chart, the band has proven its staying power in the industry. The group has won three Grammy Awards, sold millions of singles and albums, and achieved numerous number one radio singles, solidifying their place as a dominant force in music.
Joe Walsh, with a career that spans more than five decades, has also achieved significant success. From his early days with the James Gang to his time with the Eagles, Walsh has been a mainstay in the rock music scene. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Eagles, Walsh continues to perform and inspire audiences with his music.
With these two seasoned musicians as mega mentors, the contestants on The Voice season 28 are sure to receive valuable guidance and support as they navigate the challenges of the Knockouts and beyond. Tune in to see how the artists rise to the occasion and showcase their talents on this exciting season of The Voice.
