Steak and seafood restaurant to open in Birmingham on November 5
A new upscale steakhouse and seafood restaurant is preparing to open its doors in downtown Birmingham in just two weeks. Lapeer Steak & Seafood, originating from Alpharetta, Georgia, will be making its grand entrance into the Magic City on November 5th, situated within The Hardwick at 2308 1st Ave S.
Established in 2019, Lapeer Steak & Seafood offers a chef-inspired menu filled with premium beef cuts and fresh seafood in a cozy and boutique setting. Following its success in Georgia, the restaurant has partnered with Blake Hartley, formerly of Hot & Hot and Bottega, to introduce this concept to the Birmingham scene.
Owner Louis Soon expresses his enthusiasm for the Birmingham food culture, mentioning how Chef Blake Hartley’s experience in the city’s dining scene makes him the perfect fit for this venture. The restaurant’s Alabama debut at The Hardwick, an adaptive reuse project housed within a 110-year-old steel fabricating plant, is an exciting addition to the vibrant food landscape of Birmingham.
Unlike its Alpharetta location, Lapeer Steak & Seafood’s Birmingham spot will embrace The Hardwick’s industrial aesthetic with a rich and moody interior design by founder Louis Soon. With a lively bar and an elegant dining space, guests can anticipate a menu featuring Prime cuts, dry-aged beef, Waygu, fresh fish, and East Coast oysters crafted by Co-Executive Chef Blake Hartley.
Co-Executive Chef Blake Hartley expresses his pride in bringing his experiences to Lapeer Steak & Seafood, creating a unique culinary experience for Birmingham patrons. The restaurant’s beverage program, curated by Beverage Director Richard Ramirez, offers a diverse selection of drinks that cater to all tastes, including playful cocktails and classic wine options.
Lapeer Steak & Seafood’s dedicated team, with over 40 years of combined experience, strives to provide a memorable dining experience that is both refined and approachable. The opening menu, curated by Chefs Blake Hartley and Andy Long, promises a modern twist on classic steakhouse offerings with a touch of fun in every dish.
With its opening scheduled for November 5th, Lapeer Steak & Seafood will offer complimentary lunch parking and valet services for dinner guests. While reservations are not mandatory, they are recommended, and can be conveniently made online.
