The Temper Trap Release Cinematic Music Video ‘Giving Up Air’ Before World Tour

Australian indie rock band The Temper Trap recently released a visually stunning music video for their newest single, “Giving Up Air.” Directed by Andrea Banjanin and shot at London’s Trellick Tower, the video tells a poignant story of a father and his son dealing with grief and connection, mirroring the song’s themes of struggle, responsibility, and hope.

Frontman Dougy Mandagi appears briefly in the video, adding depth to the band’s introspective and atmospheric style. With over 2.5 million streams already, “Giving Up Air” highlights The Temper Trap’s talent for combining mesmerizing synth textures with heartfelt storytelling.

The Temper Trap’s musical journey began in Melbourne in 2005 when Dougy Mandagi, Jonathon Aherne, and Toby Dundas joined forces. Starting as an indie pop group, they quickly honed their sound into atmospheric rock driven by Mandagi’s ethereal vocals and shimmering guitars. Their early EP, released in 2006, hinted at their future success, landing them spots at Australian festivals like Laneway and V Festival.
