The 2025 Harvest Rock Festival in Adelaide left a lasting impression, thanks in part to the unexpected elements that made it truly unforgettable. With a sudden thunderstorm on Saturday, festival-goers were forced to seek refuge in nearby pubs as a shelter-in-place warning was issued. However, once the storm passed, the gates reopened, and Genesis Owusu kick-started the festivities with an electrifying performance that dispersed the lingering clouds.

Despite rumors that Wolfmother missed their set, they surprised fans with a guerrilla performance at a local pub. The day continued with Lime Cordiale, The Jungle Giants, and Vance Joy bringing a sense of order to the evening. The Presets took the party to the next level with their infectious dance tunes, ensuring that the crowd was on their feet and grooving to hits like “I Go Hard, I Go Home” and “My People”.

As the sun set, The War on Drugs delivered a mix of heartland rock and neo-psychedelia on the Harvest Stage, captivating the audience with their soulful performance. Meanwhile, over at the Vine Stage, M.I.A. commanded attention with her high-energy set, inviting fans to join her on stage during crowd-favorites like “Bad Girls” and “Paper Planes”.

The festival’s exclusive lineup continued to impress with the highly anticipated performance by The Strokes, who transported the audience to a dark, moody nightclub in New York City with hits like “Reptilia” and “You Only Live Once”. The party continued into the night with Skream & Benga keeping the beats going until the day came to a close.

Sunday brought a more relaxed vibe with local acts like Colter, TOWNS, and Velvet Trip setting the tone for the day. Sneaky Sound System and Ruel kept the energy alive, while PNAU had the Vine Stage grooving with their infectious tunes. A surprise addition to the lineup, Lauren Spencer Smith, wowed the audience with her mature songwriting skills and captivating stage presence.

As the festival drew to a close, Royel Otis and Jelly Roll added the final touches, keeping spirits high despite a few showers. Overall, the 2025 Harvest Rock Festival showcased South Australia’s wild beauty and provided an unforgettable weekend filled with music, camaraderie, and unexpected moments that truly captured the essence of a memorable festival experience.
