On November 7th, Midlake will unveil their latest album, “A Bridge to Far,” marking their third release with Eric Pulido at the helm. The band’s affinity for bands like Genesis and Pink Floyd is no coincidence, as they too saw success after a change in lead singers. The title of the album, a nod to taking the road less traveled, sets the tone for the classic Midlake sound that fans have come to love.

The album is a collection of folky prog-rock tunes, including standout tracks like “The Calling,” a dark and rhythmic piece featuring captivating saxophone exchanges. Another highlight is “Days Gone By,” accentuated by whimsical flute melodies. The music video for this track features British actor James Lance serenading viewers with a playful street dance, reminiscent of a classic Hollywood musical.

Before embarking on their 11-city European winter tour, Pulido and the band will host an album-release concert in North Texas. The show will feature an opening act by Paul Schalda at Tulips in Fort Worth on November 15th.

Midlake’s evolution with Pulido as the frontman continues to captivate audiences with their unique blend of folk and rock influences. The band’s ability to stay true to their signature sound while exploring new musical territories is a testament to their staying power in the industry. As they prepare to share their latest work with the world, fans can expect a showcase of talent and creativity that sets Midlake apart in the realm of contemporary music.
