2025 Moss Rock Festival Set for This Weekend, Nov. 1-2
In just a few days, the 2025 edition of the Moss Rock Festival is set to kick off its 20th anniversary celebration. This festival, scheduled for this coming weekend, will once again bring together artists, nature enthusiasts, and individuals interested in “smart living” concepts and eco-creative art and design.
Taking place on Saturday and Sunday at the Hoover Metropolitan Stadium parking lot, the Moss Rock Festival promises to delight attendees with a diverse range of artistic expressions. More than 100 artists will showcase their work, utilizing various mediums such as clay, fiber art, painting, printmaking, jewelry, furniture, photography, woodworking, metalworking, glass, and mixed media.
This year’s festival will feature Ines Orihuela, a talented artist from Pelham, as its highlighted artist. Born in Lima, Peru, Orihuela’s artistic journey began at the young age of 3, leading her to study theater and showcase her singing talent at Imagenes School in Lima. Inspired by her grandfather, a revered painter and teacher in Peru, Orihuela honed her skills at the School of Fine Arts in Lima before moving to Birmingham in 1995. Here, she became a student artist at Irondale’s Studio By The Tracks, which played a crucial role in her artistic and personal development.
Known for her diverse subject matter, Orihuela’s artwork captures the expressiveness, humor, flair, and surrealist nature of wildlife, pets, farm animals, and exotic creatures. She also finds joy in painting plants, flowers, landscapes, reconstructing familiar scenes from her childhood, and creating imaginative self-portraits and visions of everyday objects.
In addition to the artistic displays, the Moss Rock Festival will host a nature and “smart living” market, featuring an array of fresh, organic, locally made, and sustainable products in food, home décor, body and health items, and technology. The Wonderkid Studio will offer interactive art workshops for children, while the Planet Projects, showcasing art pieces by students from different schools, will add a touch of youthful creativity to the event.
Attendees can look forward to live music and dance performances at the Crescent Stage, along with delectable offerings from food trucks like Eugene’s Hot Chicken, Hey Bebe, Rae Rae’s Catering, Son’s Donuts, and Son’s Pops. For those craving something sweet, the festival will have a dedicated sweetery area.
Moreover, the festival will feature a beer garden serving a variety of beverages from local Alabama breweries and beyond. This craft tasting event, now in its 14th year, will offer an assortment of options including beer, wine, mead, snacks, beer floats, and the chance to watch football on a large screen wall.
Tickets for the Moss Rock Festival can be purchased in advance for $12, with a gate price of $15. Children ages 18 and under can enter for free. Additionally, tickets for the beer garden can be bought in advance for $35 or at the gate for $45, including full access to the festival.
With a lineup of dance performances, live music, art displays, and culinary delights, the 2025 Moss Rock Festival promises to be a memorable weekend celebrating nature, art, and sustainable living.
