UK’s alt-rock institution celebrates 20 years with a big event in 2026
dedicated to metalcore, hardcore, and post-hardcore—without any overlapping sets. This decision allows fans to fully immerse themselves in the breakdowns, blast beats, and intense screams of each performance without missing a single second.
Among the headliners for these stages are Knocked Loose, the hardcore powerhouse from Kentucky known for their wild live performances and tracks like “Counting Worms.” Malevolence, the groove-metal giants from Sheffield fresh from their 2025 album release “Where Only The Truth Is Spoken,” as well as Bury Tomorrow, Cancer Bats, and President will also grace the heavy stages with their presence.
While the heavy stages promise chaos, the rest of the festival offers a diverse musical experience. The lineup includes the return of iconic bands like Good Charlotte, performing in the UK for the first time in seven years, and Sublime, making their UK debut with Jakob Nowell leading the way. The emo and pop-punk nostalgia will be brought by bands like Taking Back Sunday, Dashboard Confessional, State Champs, Boston Manor, and Saosin.
The festival also shines a spotlight on emerging UK alt-rock bands such as Beauty School, Call Me Amour, and Pest Control, showcasing the future of the genre. Deaf Havana will celebrate the 15th anniversary of their album “Fools and Worthless Liars,” while acts like Dying Wish, Currents, Comeback Kid, and Heriot deliver a dose of metalcore mayhem. Bands like Origami Angel, Trash Boat, Static Dress, and Youth Fountain add emotional depth and sonic variety to the lineup.
Since its inception in 2006 with headliners Fall Out Boy, Slam Dunk has evolved over two decades to host legendary acts like Paramore, Enter Shikari, Sum 41, and NOFX. The festival has consistently supported both established icons and emerging talents, showcasing the vibrancy and importance of the UK’s alternative music scene.
