This year marked the release of Josh Groban’s Gems collection, coinciding with his Las Vegas residency. To add to his musical repertoire, Groban is releasing a companion album just in time for the festive season. Set to debut on November 14, Hidden Gems comprises eleven tracks, including one new song. It also features two previously unreleased tracks and eight rarities that were exclusively available on various albums and editions in the past.

The album spans from 2004 to the present and includes tracks such as “Remember,” Groban’s contribution to the soundtrack of the film “Troy” in collaboration with James Horner and Cynthia Weil. Other notable songs include “The Mystery of Your Gift” from the film “Boychoir” and “Konosaki No Michi” from the Japanese miniseries “Makete Katsu.” One of the significant personal aspects of the album was Groban’s performance of “Konosaki No Michi” entirely in Japanese, a language he had studied in high school.

The collection also includes songs like “With You” and “My Heart Was Home Again” from a Hallmark-exclusive EP released in 2007. Groban collaborated with renowned producer David Foster for “My Heart” and delivered his rendition of Charlie Chaplin’s “Smile.” In addition, Groban explored Sia’s songwriting with “Everything You Needed,” specially gifted by the pop star herself.

Groban’s cover of Elton John and Bernie Taupin’s “Empty Sky,” along with the previously unreleased track “Constant”—c0-written with Benj Pasek and Justin Paul—as the two most recent additions to Hidden Gems. The album showcases Groban’s versatility and musical journey over the years, including his piano playing on the Elton John tribute.

Coming off the back of a Tony Award-nominated performance in the 2023 Broadway revival of “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street,” Groban’s Hidden Gems is yet another testament to his musical prowess. The album is set to be released by Reprise on November 14. The tracklist offers a variety of musical experiences, from orchestral movie soundtracks to intimate ballads and heartfelt compositions. Don’t miss out on the chance to discover the hidden treasures in Josh Groban’s latest offering.
