The album embodies therapy and celebration simultaneously, reflecting the journeys that have led them to this moment, honoring their losses, and celebrating what remains. The vulnerability in these tracks encapsulates the essence of life and De La Soul’s essence.
This album serves as a bridge across eras, preserving De La Soul’s pioneering contribution to alternative hip-hop while embracing their evolution. As the sixth release of Mass Appeal’s “Legend Has It” campaign, it stands alongside new music from artists like Slick Rick, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Mobb Deep, Big L, and Nas/DJ Premier.
The music on “Cabin in the Sky” is a blend of soulful samples and modern beats, reflecting the group’s unique style while venturing into innovative territories. The album represents a meeting point between legacy and innovation, catering to both seasoned fans and new audiences.
