Sammy Hagar praises Yungblud as ‘the next big star’
Sammy Hagar has recently identified Yungblud as a new superstar in the music industry. The former frontman of Van Halen praised the 28-year-old rocker after witnessing his outstanding performance of Black Sabbath’s Changes during Ozzy Osbourne’s Back to the Beginning concert earlier this summer.
Hagar expressed his admiration for Yungblud, emphasizing his belief that the young artist is set to dominate the music scene. Recalling the moment he saw Yungblud perform, Hagar shared, “Yungblud is the next superstar on this planet. I saw him at Ozzy Osbourne’s Back to the Beginning singing Changes and I became a huge fan overnight. He was on earlier than me and killed it. When he came offstage, I joked: ‘Hey dude, you can’t do that to an old guy like me! Have some respect!’”
Yungblud, whose real name is Dominic Harrison, has faced criticism from The Darkness frontman, Justin Hawkins, following his tribute to Ozzy Osbourne at the MTV VMAs. However, Hawkins clarified that his comments were not intended to spark a feud and were merely his personal opinion on the performance. He pointed out concerns about the use of real-time pitch correction during live performances, questioning the authenticity of an artist with a background in musical theatre and Disney.
Yungblud responded to the criticism, labeling it as “bitter and jealous” and defending his heartfelt tribute to Ozzy Osbourne. Refuting the negative remarks, Yungblud emphasized that his intention was to honor the late icon and deliver a meaningful performance rather than seeking personal gain. He criticized the critics for attempting to undermine the genuine emotion and camaraderie displayed during the tribute.
Despite facing backlash from some in the industry, Yungblud remains resolute in his dedication to his craft and honoring the legacy of music legends like Ozzy Osbourne. The young musician continues to push boundaries and challenge traditional norms within the rock genre, carving out a unique path for himself as he navigates the complexities of fame and artistic expression.
As Yungblud continues to make waves in the music world, his authenticity and passion shine through, solidifying his position as a rising star destined for greatness. With the support of seasoned artists like Sammy Hagar and a growing fan base, Yungblud is poised to make a significant impact on the global music scene as he forges his own path to success.
