Valve Sets New Console with Steam Deck (Gaming News Recap)
Valve, the creator of the popular Steam Deck handheld PC gaming console, has announced that it will release a new gaming console called the Steam Machine in 2026. This new device, unlike the portable Steam Deck, is a 6-inch cube gaming console designed for stationary play. Along with the Steam Machine, Valve will also launch the Steam Controller and a VR headset called the Steam Frame next year.
According to Valve, the Steam Machine will have more than six times the power of the Steam Deck, making it capable of playing the entire Steam library, including AAA titles. Players can simply sign in with their Steam account to access their entire game library on the Steam Machine. All three devices – the Steam Machine, the Steam Controller, and the VR headset – are optimized for Steam and aimed at enhancing players’ experience with their Steam library.
Although pricing information has not yet been disclosed, the new devices are now available for wishlisting on Steam. The announcement video for the new Steam Machine hardware and accessories can be viewed online.
In other gaming news, the first-person sci-fi adventure and immersive sim game “Ambrosia Sky” released its “Act One” on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. The game’s developer Soft Rains describes players assuming the role of Dalia, a field scientist from an enigmatic order searching for human immortality. Dalia is sent to a deserted farming colony on Saturn’s outer rings, her once home now overrun by hostile fungi. She must uncover the truth, eliminate the contamination, and put the dead to rest.
The game’s Acts Two and Three are set to be launched in 2026, providing players with a complete gaming experience. The immersive story and captivating gameplay of “Ambrosia Sky” promise to keep players engaged from start to finish.
