Five Finger Death Punch and BABYMETAL achieve first-ever collaboration at No. 1
Five Finger Death Punch has just achieved a remarkable feat by securing their 13th consecutive No. 1 position on the Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart with their song “The End,” featuring BABYMETAL, a Japanese rock band. This achievement not only marks FFDP’s 17th overall chart-topping success but also solidifies their position as the artist with the longest-running streak of No. 1 hits in the history of the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart. The band kickstarted this successful run with their 2018 hit “Sham Pain.” Simultaneously, BABYMETAL made history by becoming the first Japanese and Asian-based act to claim the No. 1 spot on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart through their collaboration with FFDP. Their track “The End,” initially part of FFDP’s 2022 album ‘AfterLife’ and subsequently re-recorded for their recent release ‘BEST OF (Volume 2),’ has also shown a significant upward trajectory on the all-format Rock & Alternative Airplay chart, ascending to No. 17 position. This climb in the charts is further solidified by a notable 16% increase equivalent to 2.5 million audience impressions over the previous week. As a result of this achievement, Five Finger Death Punch has now secured a spot as the third-highest artist in terms of the total number of No. 1 hits on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, trailing behind Shinedown with 21 hits and Three Days Grace with 19 hits. This remarkable accomplishment by both Five Finger Death Punch and BABYMETAL signifies a significant milestone in the history of the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart and highlights the global appeal and influence of rock music across different cultures and regions.
