Dyssidia enlists Shamisen virtuoso Noriko Tadano for new single “Dream Persuasion”

Dyssidia recently unveiled the track Dream Persuasion, the final single from their upcoming album, Deeper Wells Of Meaning. This single features the impressive talents of Noriko Tadano, a revered Japanese tsugaru shamisen performer, composer, and vocalist. This collaboration marks a significant departure from Dyssidia’s usual sound, introducing a fresh and captivating element to their music.

Dream Persuasion seamlessly blends the sharp and resonant tones of the shamisen with Dyssidia’s contemporary progressive metal style. The result is a unique fusion of ancient textures and modern heaviness, showcasing the band’s ability to experiment with different sounds and styles while maintaining their reputation for bold and dynamic compositions.

Scheduled for release on 28 November through Wild Thing Records, Deeper Wells Of Meaning has been highly anticipated, arriving five years after Dyssidia’s debut album, Costly Signals. This new record has been co-produced and mixed by Sam Vallen of Caligula’s Horse and mastered by V. Santura of Obscura, ensuring a level of technical precision that complements the band’s intricate and emotionally charged music.

Founded in Adelaide in 2010 by Jesse Olley, Corey Davis, and Nathan Harvey, Dyssidia quickly expanded its lineup to include bassist Neil Palmer in 2011, vocalist Mitch Brackman in 2012, and drummer Liam Weedall in 2015. Over the years, the band has shared the stage with renowned acts such as Opeth, TesseracT, Leprous, and Caligula’s Horse, solidifying their presence in the global progressive metal scene.

Dream Persuasion follows the release of the album’s earlier singles, Serum Sickness and Impulsivity, offering fans another glimpse into the depth and ambition of Deeper Wells Of Meaning. Dyssidia is set to launch the album in their hometown of Adelaide on Saturday, 13 December at Jive, promising an electrifying live performance that is not to be missed.
