Icelandic band Of Monsters and Men made a triumphant return to the top of the Adult Alternative Airplay chart after a nearly five-year hiatus. Their track “Ordinary Creature” secured the number one spot, marking their fifth chart-topping song and the second consecutive hit following “Visitor” in 2020. The band had previously achieved back-to-back number ones in 2012-2013 with “Little Talks” and “Mountain Sound,” and also reached the top with “Crystals” in 2015.

“Ordinary Creature” is the leading single from the group’s 2025 album, All Is Love and Pain in the Mouse Parade, which is their first full-length release since 2019’s Fever Dream. The song has not only climbed to number one on the Adult Alternative Airplay chart but has also seen success on the Alternative Airplay and Rock & Alternative Airplay charts, reaching numbers 28 and 21, respectively. Furthermore, there was a notable 14% increase in audience impressions, totaling 1.9 million over the past week.

The album itself, released on October 17 via the band’s own label OMAM/Skarkali Records, entered the Top Current Album Sales chart after selling 2,000 copies in its debut week. This marks another milestone for Of Monsters and Men as they continue to make an impact on the music scene with their unique sound and powerful lyrics. Their return to the top of the charts is a testament to their enduring talent and unwavering connection with fans.

The band’s success with “Ordinary Creature” and All Is Love and Pain in the Mouse Parade showcases their ability to deliver compelling music that resonates with a wide audience. Their distinct style and captivating performances have solidified their position as a force to be reckoned with in the industry. As they continue to evolve and experiment with new sounds, Of Monsters and Men remain a compelling presence in the world of alternative rock.

Overall, Of Monsters and Men’s return to the number one spot on the Adult Alternative Airplay chart is a well-deserved victory for the band. With their latest album making waves and their music captivating listeners around the globe, it’s clear that they are a band with staying power. As they continue to push boundaries and explore new musical horizons, fans can expect even more incredible music from Of Monsters and Men in the future.
