Lavis, aged 74, was a pivotal figure in the band’s history, having lent his drumming skills to Squeeze’s most beloved hits such as “Tempted,” “Up the Junction,” and “Cool for Cats.” Despite enduring personal struggles with alcoholism, Lavis left an indelible mark on the band’s musical landscape. Following his departure from the group in 1992, Lavis teamed up with Jools Holland to embark on a new musical journey with the Rhythm & Blues Orchestra.
