New studio album ‘Distroid’ released by Dogs in a Pile

Dogs In A Pile have recently unveiled their latest studio album, ‘Distroid,’ which is now accessible through various streaming platforms and is also available on vinyl. This album consists of 10 distinct tracks that have already gained popularity as live favorites for this band hailing from New Jersey.

Keyboardist and producer Jeremy Kaplan shared his thoughts on ‘Distroid,’ describing it as an encapsulation of their live performances with added elements that they couldn’t replicate on stage due to physical limitations. Kaplan, along with his bandmates Brian Murray and Jimmy Law on guitars, Joe Babick on drums, and Sam Lucid on bass, recorded the fundamental tracks for ‘Distroid’ at Galaxy Smith West, and proceeded to add layers of sound at Dogs HQ. The mastering for the album was completed by Sam Torres at Polymouth Mastering.

The album offers a spectrum of the Dogs In A Pile essence, featuring tight and melodious funk, jazz-influenced psych-rock pieces, as well as expansive compositions exhibiting sophisticated harmonies, versatile genre shifts, and exceptional musicianship.

‘Distroid’ commences with the well-known live track “Go Set” and incorporates other beloved tunes like “Thomas Duncan, Pt. 3,” and “Por Que Pedro.” Noteworthy is the addition of The Ocean Avenue Stompers Horns on the track “My Disguise.” Kaplan spoke about the song “Samba For Sam,” describing it as a culmination of ideas created across different locations, which were then synthesized over a three-year period before reaching its final form.
