Set It Off is gearing up to rock Detroit on Thanksgiving Eve with a show at Saint Andrew’s Hall. Before taking the stage, the band members, including singer Cody Carson, guitarist/bassist Zach DeWall, and drummer Maxx Danziger, sat down for a chat. Cody expressed his excitement about performing in Detroit, not only for the great crowds the city always provides but also for another reason – the best wings in the United States located across the street at Sweetwater Tavern. Describing the experience, Cody mentioned, “It’s insane. Like, you wouldn’t expect it. It’s a small, little place. I love it.”

For those unfamiliar with Set It Off, they are a Florida-based band that decided to go independent a couple of years ago, a move that has proven to be the right one. Cody shared, “In 2023, we decided we weren’t going to sign to a label, we started doing this on our own. And we honestly didn’t know we were going to do an album.” The band’s aim was to go back to their roots, writing music for themselves with no pressure to conform to industry expectations. Their approach led them to success, as they found radio play they had never experienced before, even during their time with other labels. This independent journey allowed them to stay true to themselves and create music that felt authentic.

Looking ahead, Set It Off has big gigs lined up for 2026 in Europe, following a successful year of touring. Describing their experiences abroad, the band emphasized the unique energy of European crowds, with a particularly memorable show supporting I Prevail in Germany. The band forged connections with fans overseas and found European audiences to be among the most enthusiastic and passionate they’ve encountered.

When it comes to Detroit, Set It Off has a great relationship with local bands, including the Detroit band, whom they greatly admire. The camaraderie shared between musicians from different regions highlights the supportive nature of the music industry. The band has always felt welcomed and appreciated in Detroit, cultivating a positive experience every time they perform in the city.

As the boys look forward to their Thanksgiving Eve show at Saint Andrew’s Hall, the anticipation is high for a night of energetic music and enthusiastic fans. Set It Off’s independent journey and dedication to authenticity have propelled them to new heights in their music career, setting the stage for even more success in the future.
