KillerStar Reveals Second Album ‘The Afterglow’ with Lead Single ‘So Easy’ and Two-Night …
London-based band KillerStar has announced their upcoming second album titled “The Afterglow” and has revealed the lead single, “So Easy.” The band is gearing up for the release on 20th March along with two launch shows at London’s iconic 100 Club on 6th and 7th March.
“So Easy” demonstrates KillerStar’s ability to blend vintage glam-rock elements with a contemporary twist. The track features a catchy guitar riff, strong rhythms, and harmonies by The Webb Sisters. The song takes an emotional turn with pianist Mike Garson’s expressive playing. Notably, former Bowie guitarist Earl Slick and bassist Mark Plati also contribute to the track.
Lead member Rob Fleming expresses excitement for the release of “So Easy,” describing it as an adventurous rock song with captivating hooks and dynamic qualities. He hopes the joy and energy the band felt while creating the song translates well to the audience. The upcoming album, “The Afterglow,” builds upon the band’s debut album, showcasing a blend of art rock, classic-rock influences, psychedelia, and a deeper exploration of progressive themes.
KillerStar’s core members, Rob Fleming and James Sedge, are joined by musicians associated with David Bowie’s band, including Garson, Slick, and Plati. The Webb Sisters add their unique vocals to the album, which also features appearances from Gerry Leonard, Alfio Annibali, Carey Frank, Dom Beken, and longtime collaborator Emm Gryner. The writing and production of “The Afterglow” involved Fleming, Sedge, and co-producer Dave Eringa, with mastering by Joe La Porta and Miles Showell.
The music video for “So Easy” offers a modern interpretation of the Bonnie-and-Clyde narrative, following the journey of two young lovers as their adventures escalate. Directed by JJ Eringa, the video includes hidden references for keen-eyed fans of KillerStar. To celebrate the album release, the band will perform at the 100 Club, where they have previously sold out three headline shows. Attendees of both nights will have the opportunity to receive an exclusive t-shirt from the merch stand.
KillerStar looks forward to sharing their new music with fans and expressing their evolving musical style through “The Afterglow.” The album reflects their journey as artists, building on the success of their first record and infusing their sound with fresh energy and creativity. Fans can anticipate a night of vibrant performances and celebration at the 100 Club in March.
