Alissa White-Gluz drops new solo track “The Room Where She Died”
After confirming her stunning departure from Arch Enemy, vocalist Alissa White-Gluz hinted at “big news in 2026” for her fans. Surprising everyone, she didn’t make them wait until the new year; instead, she dropped a new solo single titled “The Room Where She Died” on the very same day she made her departure official. This new single marks only the second solo project of her career, following 2024’s “A Song to Save Us All.”
White-Gluz shared in a statement that this track serves as the lead single from her upcoming debut solo album. Expressing her excitement, she stated, “I hope you love this first offering from my upcoming solo album. ‘The Room Where She Died’ is a song that feels truly satisfying to me; like I get to express myself in ways that have been dormant for years. This upcoming album is diverse; and I love the idea of opening up this new chapter with this song and video, which I wrote the script for. Can’t wait to share more with you!”
Arch Enemy wasted no time in announcing their mutual parting of ways with Alissa White-Gluz, who had been their singer for 12 years. The Swedish metal icons released a formal statement on their official social media platforms, expressing gratitude for the time and music they shared with White-Gluz and wishing her well. She had joined the band in 2014 and contributed to their last four studio albums.
In response to the news, Alissa hinted at exciting projects in the pipeline for 2026 and expressed gratitude to the thousands of fans she had met during her time with Arch Enemy. Notably, back in 2022, she collaborated with guitarist Nita Strauss on the powerful track “The Wolf You Feed.” The collaboration was a huge success, with both artists expressing their admiration for one another’s talent and professionalism.
A prolific artist, White-Gluz spent the last 11 years as the frontwoman for Arch Enemy, joining in 2014 after former vocalist Angela Gossow stepped down from performing to become the band’s manager. Her debut with the group on the album War Eternal received positive feedback and commercial success, peaking at No. 40 on the Swedish Albums chart, No. 7 on UK Rock & Metal Albums, and No. 5 on Billboard’s Top Hard Rock Albums.
The band’s most recent album, Blood Dynasty, released in 2025, garnered even more commercial success, hitting No. 6 on the Swedish Albums chart and reaching the top spot on the Swedish Hard Rock Albums chart. Additionally, the record achieved No. 1 in Austria and No. 2 on UK Rock & Metal Albums, with seven out of eleven tracks released as singles along with six accompanying music videos.
