Kyle Rasmussen provides latest update – Metal Insider
Vitriol’s turbulent tour has taken an unexpected turn as Kyle Rasmussen, the band’s frontman, finds himself stranded in the small town of Redwood, New York. Rasmussen, along with his girlfriend Maggie, their dog Ghost, and a plethora of band merch and gear, were left by his bandmates after a tumultuous episode within the band’s RV, allegedly fueled by substances and lack of sleep.
The band’s dissolution was publicly blamed on Rasmussen’s behavior by the departing members, Keith Merrow, Brett Leier, and Andy Vincenzetti. They also revealed their plans to form a new band without Rasmussen. On the other hand, Rasmussen recounted a dramatic escalation during a drug binge which included threats and physical aggression from Merrow towards him and his girlfriend. Police were apparently involved in removing the couple and their dog from the RV.
With the tour abruptly canceled and Rasmussen devoid of transportation and access to band finances he entrusted to Merrow, he resorted to creating a GoFundMe campaign to secure funds for his journey back home. The response was overwhelming, with donations surpassing the initial goal of $9,000 and a revised target of $16,000, now resting at a more modest $2,500. This financial support has enabled them to rent a vehicle and retrieve their equipment for the trip home.
Expressing gratitude to the donors, Rasmussen assured that the funds would go towards acquiring a used vehicle and clearing tour-related debts. An encouraging video update posted online showcased Rasmussen, Maggie, and Ghost en route to Chicago with their equipment, generously stored by a local business owner, Felder’s Convenience. This unexpected help was described as humbling and essential during their unforeseen journey back.
In the video, Rasmussen commended Felder’s Convenience for their support, humorously mentioning the shop’s amenities, and acknowledged the outpouring of goodwill that has seen them through. His positive outlook carried through as they continued their road trip, headed for Denver to meet with a familiar face. Despite the challenges faced, the adventure ahead seemed hopeful as they prepared for the next chapter post-Vitriol. Their determination and resilience shine through as they embark on a journey filled with uncertainty but brimming with newfound strength.
