Disney World removes Aerosmith from Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster preshow permanently
Ken Marino, and Illeana Douglas are no longer featured in the preshow for Disney World’s Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, as the attraction transitions to a Muppets-themed experience in 2026. This change marks the end of an era as visitors to the roller coaster will no longer be able to enjoy the iconic presentation featuring Aerosmith, which included a young Ken Marino and Illeana Douglas.
The decision to remove the preshow featuring Aerosmith was made to facilitate the transformation of the ride into an immersive Muppets-themed experience. The video presentation, which provided guests with a glimpse into an Aerosmith recording session and a high-speed journey to a concert, has been discontinued to allow for construction work to commence smoothly and to minimize disruptions for guests during the renovation period.
While the roller coaster itself will remain operational, the preshow area will undergo significant changes to accommodate the new Muppets-themed presentation. Instead of Aerosmith, guests will now embark on a quest to locate the Electric Mayhem band, led by characters such as Kermit, Scooter, and the fantastical penguin animatronics from the former MuppetVision 3D attraction that recently closed at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
The announcement of the Muppets’ arrival at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster follows the closure of MuppetVision 3D, which originally premiered in 1991 under the direction of Jim Henson. Disney revealed its plans to introduce a new Monsters, Inc.-themed area to replace the former Muppets Courtyard following the closure of MuppetVision 3D.
In addition to these developments, Disney World has unveiled plans to introduce characters and experiences from the popular Disney+ series Bluey at Disneyland and Disney World in the near future. Disneyland’s Fantasyland Theatre will be transformed into a Bluey-themed show starting in March 2022, while Animal Kingdom will feature Bluey and Bingo in an upcoming attraction later in 2026.
