Jenn Howard to Release New “SIP” Video on December 5
New Orleans singer-songwriter Jenn Howard has announced the official Vevo premiere of her new video, “SIP,” scheduled for release on December 5. Collaborating with Emmy-winning video producer Tobias Spellman, Howard’s cinematic visual for her latest single delves into the complexities of the modern human experience, exploring how individuals navigate a chaotic and hyper-connected world.
Unveiling a creative blend of blues, Americana, and rock ‘n’ roll influences infused with innovative production, “SIP” captures the emotional tension prevalent in today’s era- showcasing the collective unease, coping mechanisms, and fleeting moments of clarity amidst the constant noise. Howard shared, “SIP is about this insane collective reality we’re all living in. It’s about how we self-medicate- not just with substances, but with distractions, denial, and noise- simply to function. It’s not judgmental; it’s human.”
This single represents a shift in Howard’s creative approach- embracing collaboration, cinematic storytelling, and a more outward-looking perspective. Referring to this change, she explained, “For the first time, my songs are less about me and more about us. I’ve been writing from other perspectives, connecting to what we all feel but don’t always say. It’s been liberating- and healing.” Despite personal challenges hindering her performances, Howard discovered a renewed sense of purpose within her music. “I’ve learned to keep going,” she said. “Your soul knows what it came here to do. Denying your creativity out of fear or pain only deepens the wound.”
Through her initiative Valiant Creative Media, established in collaboration with Cecily Bell and Chris Finney from Sounds from Space Studio, Howard aims to elevate fellow artists and expand the boundaries of collective creativity. Describing Valiant’s mission, she emphasized, “Valiant is about giving space to people who create from a place of truth. We’re all trying to make sense of the world through art- that’s what connects us.”
In conjunction with the values promoted in “SIP,” Howard will host a special benefit show at the Foundation Room in New Orleans on December 18. Scheduled at 7 pm, the event features multiple female musicians and aligns with the ethos of Giving Tuesday. This performance underscores Howard’s commitment to community and reinforces her message of resilience and creative exploration in the face of life’s challenges.
