New video for Yoroi Shin Den Samurai Troopers anime reveals additional cast and staff, with a split happening

The team behind the upcoming anime series, Yoroi Shin Den Samurai Troopers, has revealed new details about the show’s cast, staff, premiere date, and format. Set to debut on January 6, the series will be split into two cours (quarters of a year) and feature a mix of new and returning talent.

The full promotional video for the series introduces viewers to the world of Yoroi Shin Den Samurai Troopers, complete with stunning visuals and a glimpse of the action to come. Rock band Blank Paper lends their talents to the opening theme song, “YOAKE,” while boy group ONE OR EIGHT provides the first ending theme, “POWER.”

Several new cast and staff members have been announced, adding depth and diversity to the production. Lynn voices Mirei Aragaki, a researcher with the Defense Special Task Force, while Toshiki Masuda takes on the role of Ryūsei Oda, a DST member responsible for training the Troopers. Katsuyuki Konishi portrays Ramaga, the powerful emperor of the Demon Realm, with a supporting cast including Takuya Satō, Kōsuke Toriumi, Takuma Terashima, Tomokazu Sugita, and Kōhei Amasaki as the “Ten Braves” serving under Ramaga.

In addition to the new cast, the series boasts a talented team of creators and animators. Chief Animation Directors Junko Yamanaka and Tomoko Tanaka, along with Main Animator Hiroyuki Nishimura, are tasked with bringing the characters to life on screen. The series’ visual style is overseen by Screen Design Director Akira Saitoh, Art Director Osamu Tayama, and Color Key Artist Miho Tanaka. The CG elements are handled by Directors Masaomi Suzuki and Keisuke Takahashi, while Compositing Director of Photography Rumi Ishiguro ensures a seamless visual experience. Editing is handled by Kumiko Sakamoto, with Sound Director Ryō Tanaka overseeing the audio aspects of the series.

Yoroi Shin Den Samurai Troopers is set to premiere on January 6 on the Tokyo MX channel, with streaming options available on U-NEXT, Anime Hōdai, and d Anime Store shortly after. The series will then air on Kansai TV and BS11, providing multiple avenues for fans to enjoy the action and adventure of the Samurai Troopers.

The story follows a group of boys in present-day Shinjuku who don powerful Yoroi Gear samurai armor to combat the evil forces led by the demon emperor Arago. Directed by Yōichi Fujita, with Shōgo Mutō supervising and writing the scripts, the series promises to captivate audiences with its blend of action, drama, and supernatural elements. The character designs are handled by a talented team, with music composed by Shūji Katayama.

Yoroi Shin Den Samurai Troopers builds on the legacy of the original Yoroiden Samurai Troopers series, which aired in the late 1980s and gained international recognition as Ronin Warriors. The new series pays homage to its predecessor while offering a fresh take on the beloved characters and their adventures.
