that it just became part of our growing up. My siblings and I all are very musically inclined, and we just were drawn to so many things. For me, punk was a natural progression. I had friends who were in bands like the Cows and others around that scene, and they needed someone to fill in and play some lead guitar, so I said, “Why not?” My sister had a band, and I joined because they needed a guitar player. I loved that scene, and I loved what it stood for. It was a little dangerous, a little rebellious, and it felt right. So, when the opportunity came to do a record, I just said, “Let’s do it.”

Finally, with the diversity of musical styles you embrace, do you approach each style differently, or do you find a through-line connecting all of them in your colorful universe of musical storytelling?

I think that the through-line connecting all of these musical styles is just me. I think that’s it. I don’t try to approach anything differently. I just approach it like it’s me. When I’m doing a Holiday show, there’s a stillness, a sacredness to it that I approach differently from anything we play. But, when I’m in my rock band, it’s different. Everything just comes from a personal place. Everything just comes from me. It’s not like a stretch or anything. It just is. Everyone is different, and everyone does it their way. It just comes from a personal place.
