Voxtrot announces first new album in nearly two decades: Listen to “Fighting Back”
After a nearly two-decade hiatus, Voxtrot is making a comeback with the release of their latest album, Dreamers In Exile, set to drop in February. This LP marks their first full-length album of new material since their self-titled record in 2007, following a period of sharing some singles and rare tracks. The Austin-based indie-pop band reunited in 2012 after disbanding in 2010, and now they are back with Dreamers In Exile, featuring some of their recent tracks and the new single “Fighting Back.”
The album was written and recorded in Lockhart, Texas, at Haunted Air Studio, owned by bassist Jason Chronis. Mixed by Dean Reid, known for his work with Lana Del Rey and James Blake, Dreamers In Exile came to life after frontman Ramesh Srivastava moved to Los Angeles in 2015 and began working for a courier company. The change in environment and living situation among musician roommates provided Srivastava with a newfound sense of creativity and liberation. “Fighting Back” showcases a synth-heavy sound reminiscent of Voxtrot’s early work, with a music video directed by long-time collaborator Annie Gunn.
The album’s tracklist includes songs like “Babylone,” “Another Fire,” “New World Romance,” and the title track “Dreamers In Exile,” among others. Voxtrot has announced tour dates for 2026, starting in Phoenix, AZ, and spanning across major cities in the U.S. like Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, and wrapping up in Austin, TX. The band will be promoting Dreamers In Exile as they perform hits from their decades-long career, including tracks from the new album.
Dreamers In Exile is set to release on February 27, courtesy of the band’s own Cult Hero Records. Fans can expect a blend of their signature indie-pop sound with new influences and experiences that have shaped their music over the years. As Voxtrot returns to the music scene after a long hiatus, they bring with them a renewed energy and passion for creating music that resonates with both longtime fans and new listeners alike.
