Lancaster’s iconic rock band, Massive Wagons, has unveiled their plans to release a new live album titled “Live At The Great Hall.” This upcoming record is set to drop on March 27th, 2026, through Earache Records, and is now available for pre-order. To give fans a taste of what’s to come, the band recently released the first single and music video from the album, featuring an electrifying performance of their hit song, “Fun While It Lasted.”

The live album captures the essence of two unforgettable sold-out concerts held at Lancaster University’s Great Hall on September 19th and 20th, 2025. This historic venue, which has seen legendary acts like The Who, Black Sabbath, and Queen grace its stage in the past, had been devoid of rock music for four decades until Massive Wagons breathed new life into it. The band’s performance received high acclaim, with Barry Lucas, the original promoter and author of “When Rock Went To College,” noting the significance of this momentous event.

Guitarist Adam Thistlewaite shared that the band had entertained the idea of a live album for quite some time, but everything fell into place perfectly for this particular occasion. He expressed excitement about the Lancaster University Great Hall shows, underscoring the band’s accomplishment in reviving a revered venue. Frontman Barry Mills emphasized that this new release encapsulates the unique energy, excitement, and essence of a Massive Wagons concert that they’ve long sought to capture.

In celebration of the album launch, the band will host intimate shows at the Barnoldswick Music & Arts Centre on March 27th and 28th. These exclusive events will only accommodate 60 ticket-holders per show and will include live performances, Q&A sessions, and engaging conversations with special guests. Additionally, Massive Wagons has confirmed a series of tour dates for 2026, ensuring that fans across the country can experience their electrifying performances.

Massive Wagons fans can catch the band at the following tour dates: February 6th in Warrington, March 27th-28th at the Barnoldswick Music & Arts Centre, and throughout April and May in various cities across the UK. Additionally, supporters of the band can show their appreciation by joining them on Patreon for exclusive content and perks or buying them a one-time drink to show their support.

As Massive Wagons gears up for the release of “Live At The Great Hall” and their upcoming tour dates, they invite fans to join them in celebrating their musical journey and the vibrant rock scene they’ve carved out for themselves. With their upcoming album and live performances, Massive Wagons continues to solidify their status as one of Lancaster’s most iconic rock bands, delivering electrifying shows and unforgettable music for fans to enjoy.
