14 brand new songs released today
Today, we have a variety of exciting new songs that have just been released. ICE SPICE and Tokischa have teamed up for the track “Thootie,” which showcases ICE SPICE rapping in Spanish for the first time. The artists had a blast working together and even shot the video for the song in the Dominican Republic. Their collaboration was a special homage to the culture of the area.
In a different style, Joe Pernice has covered Aimee Mann’s “Save Me” in a lovely acoustic rendition. The cover was shared with Aimee Mann’s approval and reflects Pernice’s belief that great songs are hard to mess up. Moving onto holiday music, The Darkness have released “Mistletoe and Wine,” a playful twist on the traditional holiday song featuring elements of shoegaze and drone.
Another cover comes from UK duo King Hannah, who shared their take on Gillian Welch’s “Look at Miss Ohio.” Silversun Pickups are back with “New Wave,” a track that showcases the band’s love for huge guitar swells and references the feeling of anticipation before a big moment. Their new album, produced by Butch Vig, is set to drop soon.
Central Plains have released a new EP, “Bitter Pineapple,” with the track “Westy’s Bossanova,” featuring warm organ-playing that sets the tone for the upcoming release. Courtney Marie Andrews gives us a glimpse of her new album with “Little Picture of a Butterfly,” a song that came out of heartbreak and conveys a sense of empowerment.
Tiga’s new single “Silk Scarf” featuring Fcukers is based on a fantasy genre and offers a unique musical experience. Jason Isbell has released a live track from his recent performances at the Beacon Theatre in New York City. Additionally, Fucked Up continues their Zodiac series with two lengthy tracks.
Milwaukee bands Barely Civil and Known Moons are collaborating on a split EP, “Barely Known,” set to release in February. Jane Remover has surprise-released an EP with new tracks and previously released singles. Lastly, Philly band Knifeplay has added a new holiday song to their Bandcamp collection.
