Crystal Lake, a Japanese metalcore powerhouse, is set to release their seventh studio album, “The Weight of Sound,” on January 23, 2026, through Century Media Records. The band has shared a new single, “Neversleep (feat. Myke Terry),” giving fans a taste of what to expect from the upcoming album.

Featuring Myke Terry from Volumes and Fire From The Gods on vocals, “Neversleep” presents a darker side of Crystal Lake’s sound, blending hard-hitting metalcore with deathcore elements. The track showcases the band’s versatility and intensity, with Terry’s vocals complementing John’s to create a seamless fusion of aggression and melody.

Guitarist and founder YD, in discussing the new single, described it as a culmination of hardcore, metal, and punk influences that form the backbone of his musical background. He highlighted the simplicity yet complexity of the track, incorporating hybrid arrangements and extreme sounds that define Crystal Lake’s current sound. YD emphasized the song’s energy and groove, urging listeners to feel the music and let themselves be carried away by its intensity.

“The Weight of Sound” promises to be one of Crystal Lake’s most ambitious projects yet, featuring a diverse lineup of guest artists spanning the heavy music spectrum. Collaborations with Jesse Leach (Killswitch Engage), David Simonich (Signs of the Swarm), Taylor Barber (Seven Hours after Violet), Myke Terry (Fire from the Gods, Volumes), and Karl Schubach (Misery Signals) showcase the band’s willingness to push boundaries and explore new sonic territories.

Reflecting on the band’s 23-year journey, Yudai “YD” Miyamoto expressed his gratitude for the experiences shared with fellow musicians, bandmates, and friends. He emphasized the role of music in shaping a new culture, highlighting the band’s evolution and growth over the years. With “The Weight of Sound,” Crystal Lake aims to capture the essence of their collective history and create a lasting impact on the heavy music scene.

Crystal Lake will embark on a co-headline tour with American metalcore band Miss May I in Europe and the UK in early spring 2026. With special guests Great American Ghost and Diesect joining them, the tour will cover 21 stops across multiple countries, offering fans the chance to experience their electrifying live performances firsthand.

Additionally, Crystal Lake will support Of Mice & Men on their Australia Tour in May 2026, bringing their intense energy and powerful sound to audiences across the continent.
