Musical Tribute to Shelter Animals in Luxembourg

Local a cappella group Sultry recently released a new video titled ‘Take Me Home,’ shot partially at the Asile animal shelter in Dudelange, aimed at supporting the shelter and promoting pet adoption. Drawing inspiration from a Pentatonix song, member Karl Pierce stated, “One of our bass singers and I came up with the idea of creating a video centered around animal adoption.” Thanks to a member’s connection at Asile, the collaboration came to fruition.

Rafael, a representative from Asile, emphasized the importance of responsible pet adoption, emphasizing that the holiday season does not change the process of bringing a furry friend into your home. He cautioned potential adopters to conduct their research and make appointments before visiting the shelter. Asile is not a store or a zoo; instead, they prioritize finding the right match between animals and owners. Additionally, Rafael mentioned that Christmas is a time when the shelter receives many donations, encouraging individuals to contribute or schedule appointments through their website.

Sultry’s video not only highlights pet adoption but also showcases various Luxembourg landmarks, including the Philharmonie, the Three Acorns fort, and the city’s tram. Formed in 2017, Sultry comprises singers from diverse backgrounds who share a passion for performing genres like jazz, pop, rock, and gospel using only their voices. Their versatile repertoire spans from classics by Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald to contemporary hits and Disney tunes.

Scheduled to perform at the Differdange Christmas market and Winterlights event in December, Sultry continues to spread their message through music. By integrating social issues like pet adoption into their performances, the group aims to raise awareness and support local causes. Through their collaboration with Asile, Sultry underscores the importance of adopting animals from shelters and providing loving homes to pets in need.

This musical tribute not only entertains audiences but also serves as a platform to advocate for pet adoption and emphasize the commitment required when bringing a new companion into your life. With their poignant performance and meaningful message, Sultry’s ‘Take Me Home’ video stands as a testament to the power of music in promoting social causes and making a positive impact on the community.
