Legendary musician Bob Dylan has recently announced his upcoming tour, Rough and Rowdy Ways, which will include a stop in the state of Alabama in 2026. This tour will see Dylan visiting primarily smaller towns across the United States, with Dothan, Alabama, being one of the 27 stops on his extensive tour schedule.

The concert is scheduled to take place at the Dothan Civic Center on April 23, 2026, starting at 8 PM. Tickets for the performance will go on sale on Friday, December 12, 2025, at 10 AM. This marks Dylan’s return to Alabama after the success of his three sold-out shows in Montgomery, Birmingham, and Mobile back in 2022. Interestingly, this will be only the second time that Bob Dylan will be performing in the Wiregrass region in his more than six-decade long career.

The connection between Bob Dylan and Alabama goes beyond just performing concerts in the state. Dylan’s music has always been deeply intertwined with significant historical events, particularly during the Civil Rights era. Songs like “Blowin’ in the Wind” spoke directly to the injustices faced by Black Americans in the South, becoming anthems for the movement.

Dylan’s history with Alabama extends back to February 1980 when he recorded his twentieth studio album at the Muscle Shoals Sound Studios in Sheffield, North Alabama, with production by Alabama native Barry Beckett. However, not all encounters with Alabama have been smooth sailing for Dylan. In 1995, Dothanites initially turned down the opportunity to host Dylan at the Dothan Civic Center, believing that locals wouldn’t show up for the event. This decision drew the ire of Dylan fans, known as Dylanologists, who were quick to express their discontent. In response to the backlash, the Civic Center eventually reversed its decision, allowing Dylan to perform on October 12, 1995.

Dylan’s upcoming concert in Dothan marks a significant event for both the iconic musician and his fans in Alabama, continuing a long-standing relationship that has spanned many decades. Subscribe to stay updated on the latest news and events related to Bob Dylan and his upcoming tour in Alabama.
