Disney World announces closing date for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, last chance to ride
Disney World has recently announced the closing date for the iconic Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios. The thrilling indoor roller coaster, which features the legendary band Aerosmith, will have its final run in March 2026. This news follows an earlier report by Entertainment Weekly that revealed the removal of the band from the ride’s pre-show.
According to Disney World’s official website, the last day to experience the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith will be on March 1, 2026. The attraction first opened its doors to visitors back in 1999 at the Hollywood Studios park, providing guests with heart-pounding excitement for over 27 years.
As mentioned in a previous report from Entertainment Weekly, the iconic preshow video, which immersed guests into an Aerosmith recording session before embarking on a high-speed adventure, has already been eliminated. This move was made to kickstart the transformation of the ride into a Muppets-themed experience in multiple phases, while also minimizing downtime for park visitors during the overhaul process.
The new Muppets version of the coaster will feature beloved characters such as Kermit, Scooter, and the wild penguin animatronics from the previous MuppetVision 3D show, along with the funky Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem band. These characters will step into the limelight, replacing Aerosmith in the preshow video and becoming central figures in the ride’s revamped storyline when it reopens in 2026.
The electrifying narrative of the revised attraction will revolve around the Electric Mayhem band as they gear up for their biggest concert in Hollywood, with guests joining them in a thrilling pursuit to locate the missing group members.
