Kansas plans North American tour in 2026 following difficult year
Kansas fans can look forward to an exciting 2026 as the band has announced a North American tour with around 20 shows lined up. The tour will see the band travel to various cities and venues across the continent, including stops in Atlantic City, New Jersey; Daytona Beach, Florida; Mexico City, and Wilmington, Delaware. The band will also be part of the ’70s Rock and Romance Cruise following a performance at the Island Resort and Casino in Harris, Michigan.
This upcoming tour comes after a challenging year for Kansas, which saw a mix of highs and lows. One of the highlights of the year was a series of well-received shows in 2025 with 38 Special, along with headliner concerts throughout the year. A homecoming concert in September in Bonner Springs, Kansas, particularly stood out and featured original members Kerry Livgren, Dave Hope, Phil Ehart, and Rich Williams performing iconic tracks like “Carry on Wayward Son” and “Hold On.”
The year also saw some changes in the band’s lineup, with Ehart recovering from a heart attack and being temporarily replaced by Eric Holmquist, and guitarist Scott Bernard officially joining the band after filling in for Williams. Longtime member Billy Greer was replaced by bassist/vocalist Dan McGowan, and vocalist/keyboardist Ronnie Platt battled cancer. Despite these challenges, the band has maintained its commitment to bringing their music to fans across the country.
The current lineup of Kansas features Williams, Brislin, Rizvi, Deninzon, and Bernard, who brings nearly two decades of experience from Kenny Loggins’ band. In light of Williams’ struggles with macular degeneration affecting his ability to tour extensively, the band continues to move forward, adapting to changes while staying true to their music and legacy.
The 2026 North American tour dates are set to kick off in Pompano Beach, Florida, and will include stops in various states and cities, wrapping up in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Fans can expect to hear classic hits along with new material as the band takes to the stage once again. Kansas remains dedicated to their fans and their music, embodying resilience and a passion for their craft as they continue to create unforgettable experiences for audiences across North America.
