4 Non Blondes have announced their return to the studio to work on their first new album since their 1992 release, Bigger, Better, Faster, More!. This upcoming album, set to be released in 2026, will mark over three decades since the band’s initial breakthrough in the music scene.

In a collaboration with Kill Rock Stars, the new album will be released under Linda Perry’s newly launched label, 670 Records. A simultaneous solo album by Perry, titled Let It Die Here, is also in the works for a release date yet to be revealed. This venture signals Perry’s reemergence as a prominent figure in the music industry after years of shaping popular music from behind the scenes.

While specific details about the new album are scarce, Perry has confirmed that the record will feature a blend of fresh compositions alongside reimagined older tracks. At this point, the album title and tracklist remain undisclosed, with additional information expected closer to the release date.

Following their disbandment in 1994, just a short time after their debut album made waves in the early 1990s alternative music scene, 4 Non Blondes left a lasting impact. Much of their enduring legacy is attributed to the continued success of their iconic track “What’s Up?,” a song that continues to resonate with audiences of all ages.

Perry has emphasized that the decision to reunite as a band was motivated by a desire for creative fulfillment rather than a nostalgic impulse. Having spent years contributing to the industry as a producer and songwriter, Perry felt compelled to return to the limelight as a performer.

The band’s recent reunion efforts stemmed from a one-off performance in 2014 and a series of live shows in 2025, which served to rekindle the chemistry among the band’s core members and pave the way for the forthcoming studio album.

The upcoming album will feature the most enduring lineup of 4 Non Blondes, with Perry, bassist Christa Hillhouse, drummer Dawn Richardson, and guitarist Roger Rocha set to collaborate. Original drummer Wanda Day and founding guitarist Shaunna Hall will not be part of this current project.

Formed in San Francisco in 1989, 4 Non Blondes quickly gained traction in the local LGBTQ+ community before signing with Interscope Records in 1991 and releasing their breakout album in 1992. “What’s Up?” became a global chart-topper in 1993, solidifying the band’s place in music history.

Perry’s outspoken presence as an openly lesbian frontwoman added cultural significance to 4 Non Blondes’ music, transcending mere commercial success. The band’s impactful performances, often infused with political undertones, established them as a crucial voice in the rock genre during a transitional period.

The recent resurgence in interest in 4 Non Blondes, sparked by the viral revival of “What’s Up?” on TikTok, reinvigorated the band and laid the groundwork for their return to the studio. This unexpected resurgence, coupled with the band’s live performances, reignited enthusiasm for their long-awaited follow-up album.

As recording progresses on the new album and with Perry’s renewed commitment to performing, 4 Non Blondes are poised to continue their musical journey, bringing forth a new chapter in their storied career. Stay tuned for more updates on this highly anticipated release.
