The Rolling Stones cancel upcoming 2026 tour plans
The planned tour for the Rolling Stones in 2026 across Europe and the UK has been canceled. The band, known for their legendary status in the rock music scene, had been preparing for a stadium tour to support their upcoming album, produced by Andrew Watt, who previously worked on their Grammy-winning album “Hackney Diamonds” in 2023. Unfortunately, the band had to abandon these tour plans due to guitarist Keith Richards experiencing health difficulties related to battling arthritis, which has forced him to alter his playing style.
Recent reports suggest that Richards could not commit to the demands of a large-scale stadium tour due to health concerns. Despite playing a three-song set in New York recently, the rigorous nature of an extensive tour schedule proved too taxing for the musician. As a result, the band made the difficult decision to cancel their 2026 tour plans. Fans, however, can take solace in the knowledge that a new album from The Rolling Stones is in the works and may be released in the near future.
While fans eagerly await new music from the iconic band, they were recently treated to a reissue of the classic 1976 album “Black and Blue.” This special Super Deluxe Box Set includes remastered recordings, a Blu-ray disc of rare performances, a photo book with exclusive images, and a tour poster replica. The excitement surrounding this reissue was further amplified by The Rolling Stones’ surprise cover of Shirley & Company’s “Shame Shame Shame,” which was released in conjunction with the album’s milestone anniversary.
In a previous tour, “Hackney Diamonds Tour,” which commenced in 2024, The Rolling Stones delivered a captivating performance at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas. The setlist was dominated by tracks from their latest album, “Hackney Diamonds,” with hits like “Angry,” “Mess It Up,” and “Sweet Sounds of Heaven” enthralling the audience. The tour also featured renowned artists such as Gary Clark Jr., Joe Bonamassa, The Pretty Reckless, and more as opening acts, enriching the overall concert experience.
Looking back on their illustrious career, The Rolling Stones also celebrated the 30th anniversary of their influential 1994 album, “Voodoo Lounge.” As a tribute to this milestone, the band reissued the album on limited edition colored vinyl, accompanied by a bonus 10″ featuring exclusive B-Sides. Fans were delighted with this reissue and had the opportunity to explore a new collection of Voodoo Lounge merchandise, including vintage-inspired t-shirts and hoodies.
Despite the cancellation of their 2026 tour, The Rolling Stones’ enduring legacy in the music industry remains undeniable. Their commitment to delivering exceptional music experiences to fans worldwide continues, and supporters eagerly anticipate the release of their new album and future tour announcements.
