Ted Feighan, the music producer originally from LA but now based in Cleveland, has been a prominent figure in the instrumental music scene for over 15 years under the moniker Monster Rally. The track “Sunflower” was premiered by Feighan in 2014. Recently, Feighan unveiled his plans to release a new album titled Echoes Of The Emerald Sands following his 2022 record, Botanica Dream. Unlike his previous works heavily reliant on samples, Feighan took a different approach for this album, creating all the tracks from scratch. The album marks the first time Monster Rally incorporates vocals, enlisting the talents of various distinguished collaborators. Collaborators on this album include TV Girl, Toledo, Mei Semones, X-Cetra, Leisure, Sessa, Nella, BenĂ©t, Jordann, Munya, and Miles Michaud from the Allah-Las band. Feighan has already released multiple singles from the album, including the latest track titled “Own It,” a vibrant collaboration with Jordana, who recently released the EP Jordanaland.
Feighan shared his inspiration behind the creation of “Own It,” describing it as a journey on a sunset cruise with a loved one, encompassing a sense of freedom and peace. He expressed his admiration for Jordana’s music and songwriting, noting that her unique style and captivating vocals complement the track perfectly, creating a truly special piece. Jordana shed light on the meaning behind the song, explaining that “Own It” delves into granting someone a second chance to prove their love after experiencing hurt, with the intention of addressing past grievances and seeking reconciliation. The collaboration with Jordana proved to be a rewarding experience for Feighan, highlighting her warmth and artistic prowess.
Furthermore, Feighan showcased a selection of tracks from the upcoming album, including “Until The Sun Goes Down” with Toledo, “Your Old House” with Mei Semones, and “Incredibly Blind” with TV Girl and X-Cetera. Echoes Of The Emerald Sands is slated for release on March 27th through Flowering Jungle. Enthusiasts can pre-order the album to delve into the intricate fusion of Feighan’s production expertise and the vocal talents of a diverse range of collaborators.
