Andrew Lloyd Webber’s renowned musical, “The Phantom of the Opera,” will be performed in Tallinn in the upcoming spring, marking a significant milestone in its 40th-anniversary European tour. The international production is set to take place six times at the Unibet Arena, starting from May 5.

Transporting the entire production, which includes the multifaceted stage, movable elements, pyrotechnics, lighting and sound arrangements, as well as costumes and props, from London to Estonia presents a monumental logistical challenge. It necessitates the use of 15 sea containers for transportation, clearly indicating the sheer scale of the operation.

Approximately 150 individuals will be actively involved in the performance, both on stage and behind the scenes, at any given moment. After its run in Estonia, the production will move on to Lithuania and Poland, showcasing the widespread appeal and reach of this beloved musical.

Based on Gaston Leroux’s timeless 1910 novel, “Le Fantôme de l’Opéra,” this musical has captivated audiences worldwide, attracting over 160 million spectators over the past four decades since its debut in London’s West End in 1986. With lyrical contributions by Charles Hart and Richard Stilgoe, “The Phantom of the Opera” holds the distinction of being the second longest-running musical in the West End, following “Les Misérables,” and the third longest-running show overall, surpassed only by “The Mousetrap.”

The enchanting tale, combined with the musical prowess of Andrew Lloyd Webber, continues to enchant audiences across generational divides. Its enduring popularity and universal themes resonate with audiences of all backgrounds, making it a perennial favorite in the world of musical theater.

The upcoming performance in Tallinn promises to be a spectacular event, providing audiences with a unique opportunity to experience the magic of this iconic production live on stage.
