Bodie debuts Christian alt-rock festival… and we’re excited!
Almost one year ago, when we assumed control of CCM Magazine, I openly discussed my vision for the evolving landscape of Christian music, foreseeing a resurgence of guitar-driven rock bands. Despite encountering skepticism and eye rolls when proposing the establishment of a rock commission within the GMA, I confidently proclaimed that within a year, discussions about rock bands would resurface. The challenge was to provide evidence for this claim, and now, we can point to Justin Fratt for validation.
The emergence of new artists in the Christian music scene, spearheaded by the dynamic and innovative BODIE, signifies a bold shift. BODIE is introducing Lovesick Fest, branding it as a Christian alt-rock festival.
“After envisioning my own music festival for over a decade, it’s surreal to see it come to fruition,” Bodie expresses. “If you’re a fan of alt-rock music and Jesus, prepare to be blown away.”

Where else would such a revolution unfold but in Orange County, California, renowned for its role in shaping ’90s Christian punk and alt-rock within the “youth group culture” and cultivating the Contemporary Christian Music genre during the Jesus Movement. This locale sets the stage for the next phase.
Scheduled for Friday, February 13th in Irvine, CA, Lovesick Fest boasts a lineup of influential artists defining the current Christian rock genre, including String & Heart, Bodie, Gracie Binion, Hopeful, and Isly.
