New Christmas song perfectly captures essence of Pinner village

A new Christmas song called “Christmas in Pinner” is capturing the festive spirit of the village of Pinner with its catchy chorus of “Pinner, Pinner, Pinner, at this time of year it’s the great place to go.” The song, created by the Pinner Association, brought joy to the local community as they embraced the holiday season.

The Christmas lights in Pinner village were officially turned on by the Mayor of Harrow, councillor Anjana Patel, on Wednesday, November 26, illuminating the high street and marking the beginning of this year’s celebrations. As the lights twinkled to life, the air was filled with beautiful songs performed by pupils from Reddiford School, bringing warmth and unity to the locals present for the countdown to Christmas. The event was made possible by the generous funding from the Pinner Association.

A representative from the Pinner Association highlighted the significance of the Christmas lights ceremony, stating that it is a cherished tradition in the community. The association takes pride in funding this event every year, knowing that it is something the local residents truly value.

In addition to the traditional carols sung by the local children, the Mayor unveiled the Pinner Association’s original Christmas song, “Christmas in Pinner.” The song, written by resident Ed Badke and accompanied by a video created by Christina Fava, aims to capture the essence of Pinner through its lyrics and melody. The video has already gained over 3,000 views on social media, showcasing the beauty and charm of the village.

The song reflects on the unique features of Pinner, from the soothing sounds of St John’s bells to the festive decorations adorning the shopfronts. It also celebrates the new additions to Pinner Memorial Park, such as the lake and playground, which have enhanced the community’s recreational spaces.

The holiday magic continues in Pinner with Santa Claus making his way through the village streets from December 10 to December 19, courtesy of the Pinner Rotary Club. Volunteers will be collecting donations for the organization’s supported charities, including the Paul Strickland Scanner Centre and Colne Valley Special Sailors. The routes for Santa’s visits can be found on the Pinner Rotary Club website.
