Dragony drops new single and lyric video “Shadow and Flame”
Dragony has embarked on a new musical journey with their latest single, “Shadow and Flame.” The Austrian Power Metal band decided to draw inspiration from the popular video game Elden Ring and its DLC Shadow of the Erdtree to create this track, which they worked on during the summer of 2025.
In a departure from their previous albums where they explored fantastical interpretations of historical events, Dragony has now chosen to delve into their pop-culture influences. To ensure they captured the essence of the game, the band not only welcomed new second lead singer Maria Nesh into their permanent lineup but also enlisted the help of the talented Brittney Slayes from UNLEASH THE ARCHERS. Lasse Elkjear was once again responsible for the epic orchestrations, while renowned producer Jacob Hansen ensured the sound was top-notch.
Singer Siegfried Samer shared his excitement about releasing a song inspired by Fromsoft universe for the third time, following their earlier tracks “Kiln of the First Flame” and “Lords of the Hunt,” which drew inspiration from Dark Souls and Bloodborne. According to Samer, completing this trilogy with “Shadow and Flame” was the perfect tribute to the Fromsoft universe, especially with the addition of Maria Nesh and the unique touch brought by Brittney Slayes.
The dark and somber cover artwork, created by Stan Decker, features an interpretation of the ‘Scadutree’ from the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC of Elden Ring, alongside a fiery serpent representing the character ‘Messmer’ from the game’s storyline.
Dragony is set to take their new single and other hits on tour with Ensiferum and Freedom Call in January 2026. The tour will see them perform in various cities across Europe, culminating in a festival show in St. Pölten, Austria on February 21, 2026. Fans can expect a night of pure rock energy as Dragony brings their unique sound and electrifying performances to the stage.
The band’s current album, Hic Svnt Dracones, was released in 2024, marking another milestone in their musical journey.
