Newly acquired footage from a dashboard camera could potentially provide crucial information on the whereabouts of a Texas teenage girl who has been missing since Christmas Eve, as stated by the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office. Camila Mendoza Olmos, 19, disappeared on Wednesday morning, prompting an extensive search effort.

The security footage released earlier by investigators depicted a person believed to be Mendoza Olmos checking her car in the driveway around 7 a.m. on Wednesday. Now, authorities have access to dashcam footage showing a woman walking alone, and there is a possibility that it might be Mendoza Olmos, Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar revealed during a news conference.

Although there is no absolute certainty regarding the identity of the person in the video, Sheriff Salazar mentioned that the description of the clothing matches that of Mendoza Olmos. The video was captured a few blocks away from her residence, according to Salazar.

Sheriff Salazar emphasized the significance of releasing this footage, hoping that it might prompt others in the community to share similar videos they may have captured. The search efforts have been ongoing, with deputies and volunteers working tirelessly to locate Mendoza Olmos.

Mendoza Olmos’ mother reported that her daughter typically goes for a morning walk, expressing concern when she did not return within a reasonable timeframe. The search has now expanded to involve multiple agencies, including the FBI, offering technical support, and the Department of Homeland Security, monitoring border crossings and international travel to ensure no clues are overlooked.

Sheriff Salazar ruled out any involvement with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, confirming that Mendoza Olmos, a U.S. citizen, was not detained. The only possessions she took were her car keys and possibly her driver’s license. Notably, she left her phone behind, a departure from her usual routine, as Salazar pointed out, given Mendoza Olmos’ active lifestyle and habits.

While there was a recent breakup in Mendoza Olmos’ personal life, authorities do not suspect any foul play, as they believe the separation was mutual. Sheriff Salazar refrained from disclosing certain details surrounding Mendoza Olmos’ disappearance but did indicate that there is a sense of urgency indicating potential danger.

The community’s assistance has been requested in the search efforts, with neighbors urged to review their surveillance footage for any possible sightings of the teenager. Mendoza Olmos was last seen wearing a blue and black hoodie, blue pajama bottoms, and white shoes. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office or the BCSO Missing Persons Unit.

As the search continues, authorities and volunteers remain committed to locating Mendoza Olmos and ensuring her safe return. The cooperation of the community is crucial in this search effort, and any potential leads or information are greatly appreciated by the authorities.
