Investigators release new video in search for clues in Camila Mendoza Olmos disappearance

Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar is reaching out to the community for assistance in solving the mystery of Camila Mendoza Olmos’s disappearance. Despite five days of searching, investigators are still lacking crucial information about Camila’s whereabouts after she vanished on Christmas Eve morning.

In a bid to gather more clues, Sheriff Salazar unveiled new dashcam footage showing a figure believed to be Camila walking at around 7 a.m. on the day she went missing. This video has provided some direction for the search efforts, but authorities are eager to procure additional footage that may shed light on Camila’s movements that morning.

Camila’s father, Alfonso Mendoza, has affirmed that the person in the circulated video is not his daughter, describing her as a slender young woman. Expressing his deep love for Camila, he implores her to return home to him. It has also come to light that Camila struggled with depression and suicidal thoughts, although Sheriff Salazar stresses the importance of exploring all possible scenarios, from voluntary disappearance to self-harm to potential abduction.

Despite the distressing circumstances, Camila’s family remains resolute in their faith and hope for her safe return. Alfonso Mendoza, grappling with devastation, finds solace in prayer and unwavering belief. He fondly recalls Camila’s affectionate nature, dubbing her a ‘daddy’s girl’ and beseeching her to come back home.

Assisting the local authorities in their search efforts, the FBI and Homeland Security have been brought onboard to provide additional resources, including access to flight records and border crossings data. Meanwhile, volunteer search teams have been combing the area near Camila’s residence for any signs of her presence.
