Calling All Captains, a punk-rock band from Canada, is gearing up to release their most personal and introspective work to date. The band’s new EP, titled The Things That I’ve Lost, is scheduled to drop on January 9, 2026, via New Damage Records, solidifying their position as prominent figures in the contemporary punk rock scene.

Led by Luc Gauthier on vocals, Calling All Captains consists of Connor Dawkins on guitar and vocals, Brad Bremner on guitar and vocals, and Tim Wilson on drums. Over the past ten years, they have channeled personal struggles and challenges into high-energy, cathartic music, transitioning from humble beginnings to becoming a respected voice in modern punk rock.

Describing the upcoming EP as their most intimate release to date, Gauthier explains that the songs on The Things That I’ve Lost are a product of introspection and reflection on the band’s personal and collective experiences. The raw and authentic nature of the music is expected to resonate with listeners on a deep level.

Featuring seven tracks that delve into themes of burnout, grief, and self-identity, the EP showcases Calling All Captains’ evolution as songwriters. From the intense energy of the opening track, Stay Away, to the poignant closing moments of Salt Lines, the band strikes a delicate balance between punk aggression and melodic intricacy, demonstrating their ability to translate vulnerability into universally relatable music.

Formed six years ago after a lineup change that saw Gauthier transition from drums to lead vocals, Calling All Captains found their stride with the addition of drummer Tim Wilson. Blending elements of pop punk and post-hardcore, the band navigated the challenges of the music industry through DIY tours and a commitment to genuine connections with their fanbase.

The recording process of The Things That I’ve Lost, overseen by producer Quinn Cyrankiewicz, was marked by experimentation and collaboration. Dawkins describes the studio sessions as a creative playground where ideas took on a life of their own, capturing the essence of the band’s vision for each track.

Each song on the EP holds personal significance for the band members, with themes ranging from struggles with body image in Skin & Bones to reflections on loss and impermanence in One More Day. Highlighting a glimpse into the band’s future direction, Sunbeam and Be Cool offer a taste of the musical territory Calling All Captains are exploring.

Known for their electrifying live performances, Calling All Captains have made a name for themselves by captivating audiences with their authenticity and intensity. A standout moment came during a hometown show supporting The Offspring, where they commanded the stage in front of 10,000 fans. Fans in Edmonton can catch the band live at the intimate EP release show at Temple at Starlite on January 10, 2026, with special guest Darryl Saves Lives.

Looking ahead, Calling All Captains are focused on growth, both on stage and in the studio, as they gear up for an extensive tour in the USA. With a blend of humor and ambition, the band remains dedicated to creating music that resonates with audiences, sticking to their ethos of authenticity and perseverance in the ever-evolving music landscape.

As they prepare to unleash The Things That I’ve Lost, Calling All Captains continue to solidify their position as influential figures in the Canadian punk rock scene, offering a blend of emotional depth and punk-rock energy that sets them apart in the contemporary music landscape.
