Renowned rock band to headline Bay Area festival pre-party

Known for their captivating sound and unique style, the acclaimed rock act Pavement is ready to headline a Bay Area festival pre-party in Oakland. This festival, known as Mosswood Meltdown, is a popular punk and indie-rock event that has attracted music fans for years. In an exciting development for 2026, organizers have decided to add a third day to the festival lineup, offering attendees an additional day of music and fun.

Scheduled to take place on July 17th, the pre-party will feature a stellar lineup of musical acts, with Pavement leading the way. Fronted by the talented Stephen Malkmus, Pavement is a lo-fi band that originally formed in Stockton and gained widespread acclaim during their original run from 1989 to 1999. With iconic albums like “Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain” and “Wowee Zowee,” Pavement has left a lasting impact on the indie-rock scene.

Joining Pavement on the pre-party bill are other notable acts such as alt-rockers Wednesday and indie-rock band Vivian Girls.
