Mirah announces first album in eight years: “Dedication” with new single “After The Rain”

Mirah made her musical comeback last year with the release of “Catch My Breath,” a collaboration with Flock Of Dimes and Hand Habits after a seven-year hiatus. Now, the indie artist is gearing up for the release of her seventh album, Dedication, following the success of her 2018 album, Understanding.

Dedication will feature Flock Of Dimes, Hand Habits, and Andrew Maguire as her backing band. Mirah shared that this album was born out of a place of grief, as her father passed away just two weeks after the release of Understanding. At the time, she was also six months pregnant and preparing to go on tour for the album. Mirah reflects on this challenging time, saying, “Experiencing the greatest grief of my life and the greatest joy of my life in such close proximity definitely contributed to the genesis of Dedication.”

The first single from Dedication, “After The Rain,” has already been released. Mirah describes the inspiration behind this track, revealing that she found the creative process to be more fluid when she had time to immerse herself in her surroundings. The song “needed the mountains in the distance, the weird suburban quiet of the days, the familiar strangeness of sleeping in not my own bed, the not my life life.” Mirah expresses gratitude for the introspective moments that allowed her to create this music.

The album features a tracklist with songs like “The Ballad Of The Bride Of Frankenstein,” “Stumbling,” and “Do You See Me,” showcasing the diverse range of themes and emotions that Mirah explores in her music.
