Tigers Jaw releases new single “Ghost” from upcoming Lost On You album
Tigers Jaw, the beloved indie-rock band from Scranton, has recently released their latest single, “Ghost,” providing a glimpse into their upcoming album, Lost On You, scheduled for release on March 27 through Hopeless Records. This track follows their previous single, “Head Is Like a Sinking Stone,” solidifying the band’s reputation for emotional, guitar-driven rock music that seamlessly blends introspection with melodic expansiveness.
Founded in 2005 by Ben Walsh and Adam McIlwee while in high school, Tigers Jaw originated from Pennsylvania’s Scranton music scene, adopting their name from a song by the lo-fi band, the Microphones. Throughout almost two decades, the band has navigated through lineup changes and artistic development, fusing the early indie rock vibe with the modern emo and alternative rock sound. Walsh remains the sole consistent member, currently accompanied by Brianna Collins on keyboards and vocals, Teddy Roberts on drums, Colin Gorman on bass, and Mark Lebiecki on guitar.
Their initial work, including their debut album Belongs To The Dead in 2006, showcased a raw, intense sound that resonated with fans of emo and pop punk. Their self-titled album in 2008 expanded on this foundation, earning praise for intricate guitar arrangements and harmonious vocals. After two more albums and a hiatus in 2013, Tigers Jaw returned with Charmer in 2014, achieving success with the album charting at No. 49 on the Billboard Charts, highlighting their distinctive dual vocal interplay and memorable hooks.
Subsequent releases like Spin in 2017 and I Won’t Care How You Remember Me in 2021 have continued to illustrate the band’s evolution, combining introspective lyrics with innovative guitar melodies and dynamic rhythms. Notably, the band has collaborated consistently with producer Will Yip, known for his work with Turnstile and Movements, shaping Tigers Jaw’s evolving sound. The 2021 album emphasized lyrical vulnerability, solidifying the band’s position within the emo-adjacent indie rock community.
