London-based artist, Wesley Joseph, burst onto the music scene in 2021 with his eclectic mix of avant-pop, melancholic funk, and seamless grooves in his debut project ULTRAMARINE. Now, he returns with a fresh single titled “Peace Of Mind,” featuring the unique collaboration with Danny Brown. This track follows his single release from the previous year, “If Time Could Talk,” and marks the upcoming release of his new album entitled Forever Ends Someday, set to be released on April 10 through Secretly Canadian.

The creation of this forthcoming album was a journey that took Joseph across various locations including London, Walsall, Los Angeles, and a remote mountainside studio in Switzerland. The album boasts an impressive lineup of collaborators such as Nicolas Jaar, Romil Hemnani (formerly of Brockhampton), Harvey Dweller, Tev’n, A.K. Paul, and Al Shux. Notably, childhood friend and acclaimed singer Jorja Smith makes an appearance on one of the tracks.

“Peace Of Mind” immediately captivates listeners with its sharp delivery and moments of gasping for air. Joseph opens the track with powerful lyrics: “Push me, I’m already close to the edge/ Smile on my face with my toes on the ledge,” before transitioning seamlessly into a lethargic, bass-heavy beat that drives the song forward.

The accompanying music video, also directed by Joseph, complements the track perfectly. The visuals feature a camera circling around the artist as people engage in chaotic activities like fighting, spraying champagne, tossing drinks, and sharing their first dance. Joseph describes the track as an exploration of “solace and unrest,” serving as a self-prescribed pick-me-up created from a place of empowerment mixed with underlying unease – a reminder that sometimes the fire in one’s stomach burns brightest during challenging times.

Reflecting on his collaboration with Danny Brown, Joseph expresses his admiration for the artist, emphasizing Brown’s fearless approach to pushing musical boundaries. Having Brown’s voice on the track was not only a dream come true but exceeded Joseph’s expectations with the energy he brought to the project.

As fans await the release of Forever Ends Someday on April 10, they can anticipate a diverse tracklist featuring titles like “Distant Man,” “White Tee,” “Pluto Baby,” “Quicksand,” “Blinded,” “July” (feat. Jorja Smith), and more. With its release just around the corner, the album promises to deliver a fresh and innovative sound that showcases Joseph’s evolution as an artist.

With the unveiling of “Peace Of Mind” and the anticipation building for the release of Forever Ends Someday, Wesley Joseph continues to cement his status as a rising star in the music industry.
