New footage shows perspective of agent in fatal Minneapolis ICE shooting
New footage has emerged of the fatal shooting involving a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent in Minneapolis during an encounter with Renne Nicole Good. The video, obtained by Alpha News and shared by the Trump administration, provides a first-person perspective from the agent’s point of view.
In the footage, the agent can be seen holding a cell phone as he exits his vehicle and walks past Good, who calmly states, “That’s fine, dude, I’m not mad at you.” Good then engages in conversation with a woman believed to be her wife. The woman outside the vehicle is heard making provocative remarks like, “You wanna come at us?” and “Go get yourself some lunch, big boy.” Shortly after, another agent approaches Good’s vehicle and instructs her to exit the car. In response, Good turns the wheel away from the agent and starts to drive away. The video captures the agent saying, “Whoa,” followed by gunshots as the car heads towards a light pole.
Vice President JD Vance reposted the video multiple times on various platforms, criticizing the media’s portrayal of the incident and emphasizing the officer’s self-defense actions. Vance highlights the misinformation circulating in the media about the injured officer during the altercation, shedding light on the officer’s previous injuries sustained when an illegal immigrant collided with his car, dragging him for a significant distance.
Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt condemned the media’s handling of the incident, stating that they unfairly painted the ICE agent in a negative light when, in reality, he was defending himself from potential harm by taking necessary action. Leavitt expressed displeasure at the media’s manipulation of facts to suit a particular narrative and emphasized the need for truthful reporting.
Following the shooting, Good’s wife was captured on another video visibly distraught, blaming herself for the tragic outcome. She can be seen sitting on the ground with her dog beside her, expressing regret for her decision to bring Good to the scene that day. Good’s wife’s emotional state reflects the deep loss and grief experienced by their family, particularly their three children, one of whom is just six years old and has already endured the loss of their father.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, along with other Democrats, have refuted government claims about the incident, asserting that the agent’s actions were reckless and resulted in an unjustified fatality. Frey has demanded a thorough investigation into the ICE shooting to ensure accountability and transparency in the process.
The FBI has since taken over the investigation, prompting the sidelining of state authorities and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA).
