Toronto-based Holy Fuck has recently unveiled their latest album, Event Beat, which marks their sixth studio album and the first release in six years. Scheduled to drop on March 27 via Satellite Services, this highly anticipated album showcases the band’s unique blend of dance-rock music.

The members of Holy Fuck found themselves in a rural Nova Scotia village hall where they resided and worked together in seclusion, resulting in the development of Event Beat. Notably, the album was predominantly recorded live, omitting any guest vocalists, in contrast to their previous projects. Brian Borcherdt describes the overarching theme of Event Beat as navigating circumstances beyond individual control, either subjected to a larger system or an unspoken force.

“Evie,” the lead single from the forthcoming album, provides a glimpse into Holy Fuck’s distinctive brand of dubby post-punk funk, captured through a live studio performance and directed by Colin Medley. The track exemplifies the band’s signature sound and sets the tone for the rest of the album.

In addition to the album release, Holy Fuck has also announced an extensive world tour, commencing with North America in spring alongside singer and songwriter Gus Englehorn. The UK and Europe will follow suit in the fall, ensuring fans across the globe have the opportunity to experience Holy Fuck’s electrifying live performances. Noteworthy stops on the tour include appearances at Tubby’s Kingston on April 10 and Elsewhere Zone One on April 14.

The scheduled tour dates span a wide range of locations, from Toronto, ON, and Montreal, QC in Canada, to various cities across the United States, such as Brooklyn, NY, Philadelphia, PA, and San Francisco, CA. International destinations like Madrid, Spain, Glasgow, United Kingdom, and Bucharest, Romania are also included in the lineup, emphasizing Holy Fuck’s commitment to reaching diverse audiences worldwide.

Throughout the tour, fans can expect to hear a mix of new tracks from Event Beat, including “Broken Roots,” “Gold Flakes,” and the title track “Event Beat,” along with favorites from the band’s extensive discography. The dynamic energy and experimental nature of Holy Fuck’s live performances promise an unforgettable experience for concert-goers.

With the release of Event Beat and the announcement of their upcoming world tour, Holy Fuck continues to captivate listeners with their innovative approach to music. As they gear up to share their latest creations with audiences around the world, anticipation is high for what promises to be an exhilarating musical journey with Holy Fuck.
