Sub Pop to release Sunn O)))’s self-titled new album
On Friday, April 3rd, 2026, the band sunn O))) will unveil their debut full-length album titled “sunn O)))” under the label Sub Pop. Collaboratively produced and mixed by the band and Brad Wood (known for his work with Hum, Tar, Sunny Day Real Estate, Liz Phair), the album was recorded at the Bear Creek Studios in Woodinville, Washington in January 2025. The closing track of the album, “Glory Black,” is now available for preview.
Fans can pre-order “sunn O)))” on CD, 2xLP, and all digital streaming platforms globally through Sub Pop. Those who pre-order the LP from the North American Sub Pop Mega Mart will receive the limited Loser edition on opaque blue vinyl. European fans ordering from Mega Mart Europe will receive the Loser Edition on oxblood vinyl with reversed cover art. Both versions will also be available at local record stores, while supplies last. Additionally, new T-shirts, both long and short-sleeved, and a baseball hat (US only) are part of the album merchandise.
Mark Rothko, a renowned American artist, supplied two paintings that frame the album visually – one on the front cover and the other on the back cover, reversed for UK and European editions. The CD and LP packaging contain extensive liner notes by author Robert Macfarlane, drawing inspiration from his 2025 novel “Is a River Alive?” French artist Elodie Lesourd’s illustrations are also included on the inner LP sleeves and accompanying album merch.
